Habitat
Adults frequent meadows, reedbeds, brambles and dense shrubby areas near ponds and rivers. Their main breeding habitats are temporary pools.
Feeding
Insectivorous predator.
Distribution
Northwest Africa, Iberian Peninsula, South of France, Northwest Italy and some islands (Madeira, Menorca and Canary Islands).

Near Threatened (NT)
Additional information
Very smooth and shiny skin, generally light green in colour. With a dark stripe running from the nostrils through the eyes to the axillae of the front legs. Pupil horizontal. Extremities of the toes very broad, forming suction cups or adhesive discs.
